ESTCA Standard v1.1: effective 1 May 2026

ESTCA Association has published document ESTCA-STD-001-v1.1, the European Standard for Travel with Canine Animals. The standard sets out trainer accreditation, the five areas of behavioural assessment, certification and the public register, the verification API for airlines, and the trainer accountability ladder. It supersedes the unreleased v1.0 text.

The effective date is 1 May 2026. A scheduled review of the text is set for 1 May 2027. Trainer accreditation and certification issuance take place on certified-estca.eu, currently the sole operational platform recognised by ESTCA Association. Certifications issued there flow automatically into this public register via the documented ingest API.
